The Vision - the basic idea:
The basic idea is to allow writers (and readers) to read and review each other's work.
There are other sites that do this too - we hope to be different: human and inspirational.

What happens - how do I join in? Register first
It's a bit boring, but this lets me look after the site better.
Your details are kept as private as possible, but we need to know who you are and how we can communicate with you.
Click on our privacy policy for our guarantees on this.

After you register: Writers
1. Writers can e-mail in bits of work up to 3,000 words long (15,000 keystrokes).
2. Shorter is fine too.
3. This goes through a brief scan for legality.
4. It is then posted on the site - normally within 24 hours.
5. You can send in more than one bit of work.
6. You can write under a pseudonym but have to give a real email address for registration.
7. Copyright remains with the writer, and you are welcome to use the (c) symbol to show this. ALT + CTRL + C does this.
Readers
1. Readers (including writers) can then review the writing. (Reviewers have to register too with their email address.)
2. They can award 1 to 5 stars to any piece of writing.
3. They can add comments, ideally constructive ones.
4. They can only review each piece of writing once.
5. They cannot rate their own work.

Stars
1. Writings thus accumulate stars, and their average rating and number of reviewers is shown.
2. Readers can access writing by recency, author, or star quality.
3. Stars are a symbolic reward, convertible into prizes.

Prizes
1. A prize will be awarded at the end of each month to the best piece of writing.
2. The prize will be monetary occasionally but is currently a book donaed by an author.
3. The decision on the prize winner will take account of star ratings, and the opinion of an independent judge.
4. The final decision is taken by the Editor, Zander.
5. Prize writers will be offered star billing on Fledgling Press normal pages.
6. At the end of each month, new star ratings are started, but the old ones will still be shown.

Privacy
1. When you register, some personal details are requested.
2. These are required to give some security and control over the rating process.
3. The details will be held on a secure computer at the hosting site and at the base site of Fledgling Press Limited.
4. They are held under the privacy policy of Fledgling Press Limited, and will not be used for any purpose other than for verifying writings and ratings, and communications related to this.
